the coolest thing about Krav is that there is none of that traditional bullshit involved in the class like regular martial arts. pay to train not to fuck around and bow at each other and wear fancy robes not discrediting any other i respect them all but i dont have time for all that other crap
the guy who developed krav maga used techniques from jujitsu, boxing and wrestling and developed a way to use them more practically and efficiently
I respect every martial art. Was it not the late great Bruce Lee who first set the trend for taking many components of varying martial arts styles and adapting their moves to his strengths ? A true warrior studies many styles and chooses to develop and use the ones that are most effective for him. Having been through the course with a variety of guy’s with experienced martial arts backgrounds we all agreed that the Course was spot on for dealing with scenarios in the real world! CKM Rocks!
That is not what Martial Arts are about, at all. Some are adapted for sport. Martial Arts were developed for exactly the same reason as Krav Maga, the only difference is that ancient Japanese attackers, did not have hand guns! Lots of Krav Maga’s locks and basic ideas are taken straight from Martial Arts.
Just because there are a lot of losers in martial arts uniform that think they’re tough doesn’t mean that the entire system is flawed. They just suck.
too many people comparing krav maga to martial arts. martial arts are competitive sports that are ultimately designed to be used in a controlled environment against other people who have been practicing the same martial art. krav maga is designed to be in an uncontrolled environment for use against the people who may actually attack you with true desire to seriously injure you. in this sense, krav maga is definitely the way to go if you want to have skills in public combat…
Trust me, it works, being aware of uand understanding the positional geometry of two bodies both with limited range of motion (both being humans) is huge in a battle. Executing that knowledge involves chronic mental training that, when the time comes, makes it natural and therefore quick and quite effective. Ranger stuff, whats the quickest way of making you dead.
i’ve heard this system called BS several times and totally disagree, it is not designed to be pretty or technical, the sole mission is to end the fight asap. When I trained I had to learn it was okay to kick in the crotch, poke the eyes and strike the back of the neck, it is viscous and very effective.
the guy that made commando krav maga that u see on here, was in the special forces doing missions for 30 years. thats what the difference is. he was the co creator of krav maga.
how does commando krav maga differ to other flavours of krav maga?
krav maga is simplified techniques that work in dangerouse situations EG one technique that deals with a multitude of attacks instead of traditional martails arts using fifteen techniques to deal with one attack. it is more martail than art
haha! I learned that move at 0:45 today! It was cool. But it was a little more complicated than that. You had to grab their hands to make sure they don’t smac you, then the elbows then knees and the fight’s done.
Krav Maga is truly one of the best self-defense systems out there I also like Kwa Asilia Avita Sanaa, Kajukembo and Ed Parkers Kempo however Krav Maga’s gun self-defense seems to be second to none.
Btw to the people who say krav maga dosen’t work just see who is moni and why isdrael army is the best in the world on the charts they called to teach even best usa corps so i can assure u krav maga is not a fraud or jeet kune do . Btw u can all ways go and do some sparring with both jkd or krav maga students and see your self .
I totaly agree with jmossthnp im train in jeet kune do and integrate it with krav maga as they are the best 2 systems for self defense till now and should be integrated for me . He is right ring is not the street as street has no rules and surprise ring could never have so this 2 martial arts will keep u just safe they are not made for winning anything in a ring .
Krav Maga is for someone who wants to fight in the real world. I have trained in marine corps martial arts, not very effetive in a cage however, in a war diffrent story. the same goes for krav, it is so you can effectivley take the crack or drunk out before they even know it.
Krav Maga is great because it is 100% efficiency. My college buddy is now a commando in Israel, and believe me, that guy can Krav some major ass. It’s not about being pretty. It’s “thump ‘em and dump ‘em.”
Hey guys, I wanted to say to the critics that if you think Krav Maga is stupid, you should have another look at it, its one of the very, very, very, few martial arts that have a PROVEN history of combat experiance. In fact, the only other MAs I can think of offhand with the same validity are WW2 style Judo (back when they streetfighterised it), traditional Samurai Jujutsu and Ninjutsu.
I hqave met Moni Aizik personally. I would put him up against almost anyone, even some MMA fighters, he is very tough. His style of KM is different from the “bigger” KM marketed in this country. Moni knows his stuff. I repeat he is NOT teaching the normal KM, this is his own version with more JJ and other stuff added.
listen up Krav is a good overall study mixed with cross training it is the goods for street tactical ability

can kids learn krav maga or is it specificly for adults?
KM was made for the self defense and the Israli Defense Forces.
I just feel sorry for people who go to mcdojos and end up dead up the street because they think that their 500 year old techniques work today. I practice Krav and have met Israelis who can vouch for its battle tested success. It isn’t a system or a martial art. It’s a group of techniques that are reviewed every day on the basis of how they work in real life. Attack a kravist in real life at your peril my friends!
